MEET THE PERFORMERS
KRISTIN NUNES
Kristin Nunes, founder/owner of The Circus Company Inc., started her circus journey over a decade ago with a vision to create a welcoming space for athletes and those craving play in their lives. With a background in gymnastics, horseback riding, and rock climbing, Kristin's passion for circus arts ignited during her travels in Mexico in 2010. Kristin has over 25 years of coaching experience, bringing a diverse skill set to her role. Kristin graduated from Lakehead University and held a Paramedic licenses in British Columbia. Kristin's commitment to fostering a supportive community has been key to the company's growth. Through acclaimed productions like Dream Chest Circus and Grand Central Circus, she continues to showcase the transformative power of circus arts.
TARA LESLIE
Tara's journey through physical arts began early, starting with gymnastics at age 4 and transitioning to competitive cheerleading in high school before discovering her passion for circus arts. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Tara is a trusted coach to many. Introduced to circus arts by Kristin in 2011, she has honed her skills as an aerial performer, specializing in skills such as Aerial Silks, Aerial Hammock, and Aerial Cube. Tara's performances have graced theaters and events throughout Ontario, showcasing her expertise and passion for the art form. Beyond her performances, Tara finds fulfillment in helping others achieve their fitness goals and overcome their fears.

MARTINA SPEIRS
Martina is a multi-discipline flow artist and. Fire spinner, specializing in hula hoop and poi spinning. She also enjoys many forms of aerial arts, as well as functional fitness. When Martina is now working as a coach and performer at The Circus Company Inc, she is spending time with her husband, three teen/tween children, Lucky the dog, and Norbery the bearded dragon. You can catch Martina spinning her propers (oftentimes on fire!) at many local events in the Collingwood area.
SIMON HELM
Simon Helm (A.K.A. Diamond) has been performing locally as a circus artist for the last 6 years. Following his theatre studies at Humber College he was introduced to aerial silks. After years of specializing as an aerialist, Simon began to branch out and incorporate new skills into his repertoire. Simon began partnering with Kristin Nunes in partner acro routines. Simon also started taking pole classes, and in 2023 Simon performed his first pole piece at the Five Points Theatre as part of The Circus Company’s “Bodies In Balance” show.
AISHA CHIANDET
Aisha started with The Circus Company in 2012 as one of the original performers on silks and lyra. Her circus disciplines have expanded to include stilt walking, bubble charming and most recently contact juggling, which this is her debut performance in. Aisha is also a musician and plays live locally. When not nurturing her artist brain, Aisha is a water scientist by day.
SARAH SHERMAN
Sarah Sherman has been a part of The Circus Company since 2015 starting out as a student and eventually becoming a coach and taking on other roles within the company! You will often find Sarah at events playing the role of stage manager behind the scenes but more recently she has begun to hone her skills as Ringmaster/emcee! Sarah’s favourite prop is a microphone and she loves any chance to hype up a crowd before ground and aerial shows! When she’s not coordinating events for The Circus Company or coaching aerial classes you can find Sarah training a variety of circus arts, going on adventures with friends or spending time with her nieces and nephew!"
