  • How do you ensure safety in the gym?

  • Do you have low income assistance?
Our circus programs are supported through Canadian Tires Jumpstart program. You can apply for assistance and grants at https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/
  • Do you have a Curriculum?
100% yes! Fine tuned and constantly evolving…just like our students! Circus is completely different from any other activity. It is a sport; it is an art form; it is power; it is grace. It is learned through practice and patience. Comparing circus to dance, gymnastics, rock climbing, or karate is not fair to Circus or to any other activity. We do not compare. Each activity is unique in its own way. Many activities today offer report cards at the end of each session or year. We do not. We are curriculum based which means that we have a “Block System” from Beginner - Elite. Each Block consists of progressions, technical skills and circus tricks.. The coaches use the Block System as a guide to teach each student so they will be successful in the next Block and beyond.. Our Block Curriculum has been sought after by many circus studios as it is a very organized and progression based system. It builds students up for success in Block 1 by teaching them how to engage muscles properly and safely so they will continue to gain confidence and strength in their practice. We tend not to share the student block levels with them because we have observed in the past that it has become a point of contention and unnecessary competition within the classes. In our circus programs we encourage positivity, creativity and a strong sense of community. Every Body is different and Every Body will move differently in circus. Our Instructors are highly skilled and trained in understanding the needs of the students while in circus and teaching the appropriate skills for their current body mechanics. In a class of students, our instructors teach skills to each student individually. We will not hold a student back in skill development if they are confident and body aware in the skill they are learning. We want each person to succeed and to meet their full potential. If you or your child have any questions, please reach out to us at: circusops@gmail.com thecircuscompanyinc@gmail.com
  • Can anyone join an Open Gym time?
Open gym is for extra training time only for students who are currently registered in a class at Collingwood Circus School. Open gym is not set up to learn wild skills that are out of your current limits. Please note that at Open Gym time, it is your responsibility to know your limits. If you are not practicing “safe silks”, you will be asked to leave.
  • What are the drop off and pick up rules for my children?
Late Pick Up Fees - will apply - once your child's class is done, we are not responsible for their care. Please ensure they are picked up on time or make arrangements. We insist that you come into the building to pick up and /or drop off your child for their programs. Our coaches are not able to supervise them after their class as they have to remain in the gym. Please pick up your child at the scheduled ending of their class.
